Sustainable Last-Mile Deliveries in Dense Metros
2024 - 2027
A three year project funded by the US Department of Energy’s Vehicle Technology Office will deploy and demonstrate sustainable methods of last-mile delivery paired with maritime middle-mile transportation to reduce traffic emissions and congestion caused by dramatic increases in last-mile delivery and e-commerce across the five boroughs.
The pilot will test the movement of goods via cargo bikes transported aboard ferries and barges, replacing trucks for these deliveries in NYC.
